Join Us at the 6th Annual Internet Summit in Downtown Raleigh, NC
Next month, downtown Raleigh, NC will host the 6th annual Internet Summit. November 12-14, 2013 at the Raleigh Convention Center, TechMedia – who happen to have the cutest Office Manager and Creative Guru ever – will host the Southeast’s largest digital gathering. Over 100 speakers will be in attendance and pre-conference workshops and a startup summit will round out this busy week.
We know that the internet is a powerful tool that is more pervasive than ever. It will come as no surprise that the amount of time Americans spend online grows every year and it rose to over 3 hours a day on average last year. Internet ad revenue is breaking records too – up to $20.1 billion in the first half of 2013 alone. All of this adds up to the internet being the most important media tool in human history.
This post will take a look at some of the topics this year’s Internet Summit will focus on to help you better utilize this expanding media outlet.
Actionable Takeaways
This year’s summit will focus on presenting applicable takeaways on subjects most important to companies today – mobile, social media, content marketing, and more.
Interaction
Social media and mobile sites are two hot topics that will be covered at the summit. Brands like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook will be discussed as well as the best ways to reach current customers, and attract new ones, where they are – whether that is social media or mobile apps.
Mobile Design
Panels will address designing functional and engaging mobile sites and apps. These include my personal favorite title from the agenda, “Building Mobile Experiences That Don’t Suck.” It does not get much more simple and to the point than that.
Visual Sites
Sites like Tumblr, Pinterest, and Instagram offer new and creative ways to reach the public almost entirely through visual content. Providing only visual content can be challenging, but these sites can become important tools for engaging followers.
Networking
Of course, a major attraction to any conference is the opportunity to network. Connect with some of the leading professionals in the digital marketplace during parties and gatherings going on throughout the summit.
Keynote and Speakers
Last, but not least, a ton of speakers (over 125!) and great keynotes will share their expertise. From LinkedIn and reddit.com to Cheezburger.com and Twitter.
It’s quite mind blowing to know that some of the biggest names from every corner of the internet will be right in downtown Raleigh next month.
